Only in Sumter, SC: My husband, Keith, had an appt. Monday, April 10 to have the holter monitor back on and then a follow up visit this friday, with the cardiologist to discuss the results. When we got up Monday he said he was going to call because no one had called to remind us of the appt. I figured it was because Friday, when they would have called was Good Friday. But he called and the receptionist told him, oh, that appointment had been cancelled, but he had an appt. for Friday also. He told her the appt for Friday made no sense if he didn't come in Monday to have the holter monitor put on and asked why it had been cancelled. She had no idea, so he told her to check with the doctor and find out what was going on. Well, today, I get home and find a message on the machine from the receptionist stating in a very beligerent voice that he needed to have the holter monitor on before he saw the doctor Friday so he HAD TO COME IN WEDNESDAY AT 11:15. Not, we're sorry we screwed up and cancelled the appt. you had made that fit in with your day off and we're sorry to inconvenience you now while we try to correct our error... nope! a command performance. As my husband said, if this wasn't necessary he would call and cancel, but he does have to have it done, so he will go Wed. Only in Sumter would someone have the audacity to act like that after they totally screwed up! Ya gotta love the south!
